Dr. Morcease J. Beasley, Superintendent of Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) welcomed  nearly 70 parents, elected officials, representatives of county businesses, members of the faith-based community and district staff as CCPS hosted a Community Meeting today, February 10. The meeting dealt with the Federal Aviation Fuel Tax issue and the multi-million dollar impact that Georgia State House Bill 821 could have on Clayton County if it is signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal.

The meeting, held at Charles Drew High School in Riverdale, served as a call to action for everyone to make their voices heard on this important issue. “We (CCPS) must stand united with Clayton County and all its cities/municipalities as this is the solution we are seeking – one that does not take anything away from the children in Clayton County,” said Dr. Beasley.
