Stilwell School of the Arts earns National Certification

This is the image for the news article titled  Stilwell School of the Arts earns National CertificationClayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is proud to announce that Martha Ellen Stilwell School of the Arts has been named a Nationally Certified Magnet School by the Magnet Schools of America (MSA) organization. Stilwell is the first school in the state of Georgia to be named a Nationally Certified Magnet School.  

“This is wonderful news,” said Dr. Morcease J. Beasley, CCPS Superintendent of Schools. “I commend the students and staff of Stilwell School of the Arts for their dedication to excellence and their commitment to high performance. This certification is evidence of both.”  

To become nationally certified, Stilwell School of the Arts had to submit a detailed application and participate in a rigorous evaluation conducted by the National Institute for Magnet School Leadership (NIMSL). The evaluation is based on the Magnet School Standards of Excellence and the Five Pillars of Magnet Schools: 1) Diversity, 2) Innovative Curriculum and Professional Development, 3) Academic Excellence, 4) High Quality Instructional Systems and 5) Family and Community Partnerships.  

“Our students deserve access to an excellent education that prepares them for the future,” said Dr. Michael Robinson, Principal of Stilwell School of the Arts. “As a Nationally Certified Magnet School, we are proud to provide that opportunity.”
