Hype Coding (Grades 6-12)

HYPE Coding (6-11) will provide students with an introduction to engineering and computer science. Participants will focus on front-end web development and robotics. The students will complete three projects during the camp: scratch animation, a personal portfolio web page, and a group robotics project. The Intro to Computer Science will address topics such as input/outcomes, coding logic using decision tree framework, algorithms and the core four coding fundamentals: Loops, Variables, Condition, Statements, and Functions. In addition, students will engage in web design and development using HTML & CSS, JavaScript, and applying the four core coding fundamentals by creating an online magazine. Finally, students will have a chance to show off their skills in robotics & microcontrollers by getting an introduction to robotics, Arduino C programming, learning how robots use sensors to communicate inputs and outputs, and how to use sensors to solve a problem.
