The goal of this training is to train exemplary teachers to mentor and support beginning teachers and to supervise student teachers. This endorsement program is designed to assist Teacher Support and Coaching candidates (TSC) in the acquisition of skills and competencies necessary to meet the needs and concerns of beginning teachers, student teachers, and teacher interns.

During the internship as they interact with their mentees, candidates will apply the knowledge and skills learned in the training course. Candidates must hold a valid, renewable teaching certificate, have a minimum of three years of teaching experience, a level three or higher on their TKES summative evaluation.  They should also have excellent interpersonal skills, have a positive attitude toward the teaching profession, be willing to commit personal time in the support of beginning teachers, and be recommended by the local school principal.

Each school has trained and certified Teacher Support Coaches to assist new teachers in the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and strategies that make for successful teaching and learning experiences.
