Dr. Linda Kight

lkightDr. Linda Kight is a former middle and high school teacher. Some of her recognitions include: 2008 Georgia Master Teacher, 2003 Clayton County Teacher of the Year Finalist, Teacher Support Specialist, and the First Lady's Award for Excellence in Georgia History. Dr. Kight was featured in a 2006 KAPLAN training video on effective co-teaching, was recognized by the State Superintendent as a core curriculum writer for Phase II of the Georgia Performance Standards, and was appointed to serve on the Georgia Professional Standards Commission's TSS Task Force. Dr. Kight has been a Teacher Development Specialist since 2007 and currently teaches a variety of professional learning courses for the district. As an educational consultant, Dr. Kight has worked with Georgia Humanities Council and Global Teacher Research & Resources, Inc. Her previous work experiences also include teaching at an international school in Seoul, Korea, serving as a program specialist for workforce development, and serving as a program director for both a conservation corps and a dropout prevention program. Dr. Kight earned her bachelor's degree from the University of South Alabama, master's degree from Troy State University and doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Kight is married, has one adult daughter and one granddaughter.
