New South STEM Elementary Groundbreaking
New Date for South STEM Elementary Groundbreaking
Posted on 02/19/2020

Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) has announced that it will postpone the groundbreaking ceremony for the district’s next elementary school and a new transportation depot that had been rescheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. The postponement is based on recent inclement weather as well as forecasts calling for additional rain on Thursday.

A new date has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 4 p.m.
Due to parking limitations at the construction site, the CCPS Transportation Department will provide shuttle service to and from the site of the groundbreaking. The shuttle will board at Eddie White Elementary, located at 11808 Panhandle Road in Hampton. It is asked that all individuals interested in utilizing the shuttle services, please arrive between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The shuttle will leave promptly at 3:45 p.m.
The new campus will be a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) elementary school and is slated to be the new home for students presently attending Eddie White Elementary School upon completion.
