CCBOE Celebrates Pre-K Week!
Clayton County Public Schools’ (CCPS) Office of Early Learning/Pre-K Department has been celebrating Georgia Pre-K Week throughout the week of October 4-8, 2021. During this week, local government officials, community stakeholders, CCPS District leadership, school staff and parents have been presenting virtual and in-person read aloud events at the 40 CCPS Pre-K sites.
During Georgia Pre-K Week, members of the Clayton County Board of Education (CCBOE) joined readers in presenting the featured book for the 2021 read aloud opportunities, Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall. The book is an appealing tale about overcoming fears to take a big important leap. Participating Board members and the Pre-K sites/schools where they presented were:
- Ms. Jasmine Bowles (District 1) – River’s Edge
- Ms. Jessie Goree (Board Chair, District 3) – Oliver & Church Street
- Ms. Victoria Williams (District 4) – M.L. King & West Clayton
- Dr. Deatrice “Dee” Haney (District 5) – Jackson
- Ms. Sabrina Hill (District 7) – Morrow
- Ms. Joy Tellis Cooper (District 8 – Anderson
CCPS extends its appreciation to CCBOE members who shared their reading talents with our youngest learners and commends the district’s Office of Early Learning for organizing this worthwhile event.
