Dr. Jamie Wilson Jr.

Dr. Jamie L. Wilson Jr., a native of Atlanta, Georgia, began his career in public education in 1990 as a substitute teacher with the DeKalb County School District upon graduating from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Due to positive experiences as a substitute teacher, Dr. Wilson became a paraprofessional while enrolled in a teaching certification program. From there he held several positions in the field of education including elementary and middle school teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Human Resources Administrator, Director of Human Resources, Executive Director of Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer.  After working 27 years on behalf of the children in the DeKalb County School District, Dr. Wilson accepted the position of Chief Human Resources Officer with Clayton County Public Schools where he promises to continue his leadership in Human Resources on behalf of children. 

In addition to a Bachelor of Business Administration, Dr. Wilson holds a Master of Education from the University of West Georgia, Educational Specialist degrees from both Jacksonville State University and the University of Sarasota, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of Sarasota.
