Dr. Sandra Núñez

Dr. Sandra Núñez is a multilingual instructional leader with more than thirty-five years of experience in education. She currently serves as Deputy Superintendent for Student Support Services. Before joining CCPS, Dr. Núñez served for 11 years as the Director of English Learners, the International Student Center, the International Welcome Center, and Gifted Programs in DeKalb County School District.  Serving for nearly 20 years in DeKalb County Schools, she also held positions of principal, coordinator of international parent outreach, and teacher of English Learners.  In addition to teaching students in grades ranging from Pre-K to the collegiate level, Dr. Núñez successfully designed and implemented EFL/ESOL programs in the Dominican Republic and the United States.  Driven by a passion for culture and diversity issues, she is active supporter of state and national immigrant and refugee organizations and initiatives. 


Dr. Núñez possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Linguistics (Spanish, English, and French) from Universidad APEC in the Dominican Republic, a Masters in TESOL from Kean University in New Jersey, an add on in Education Leadership (certification program) from the University of West Georgia, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Mercer University.
