Dr. Denise Stevens
Dr. Denise Stevens

Dr. Denise Stevens’ life story and educational journey are centered around one of her most favorite quotes by John Maxwell, “The measure of a leader is not the number of people who serve him, but the number of people he serves.” Born in Weston, Georgia, Dr. Stevens has served in multiple roles throughout her career. During the past 35+ years, she has served in the role of a teacher, assistant principal, principal, leadership coach, principal mentor, adjunct professor, financial accountant, and chief financial officer. She is honored to serve in her current role as Director of Leadership Development.

She has taught at the elementary, middle school, and collegiate levels. In 2015, she was named Clayton County Public Schools’ Principal of the Year. She has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Albany State University), Master's degree and Specialist in Educational Leadership (Columbus State University), and Doctorate of Education/Educational Leadership (University of Phoenix).

Dr. Stevens  is a motivational speaker and “Best Selling Author.” She is the author of “Rotting on the Vine” and co-author of “Leading with Balance.” She is a member of Clayton County Public Schools’ Toastmasters International. Although the aforementioned roles in which Dr. Stevens have served are important, those roles do not take priority over her role as a wife, mother, grammy, aunt, friend, and neighbor.  She is a member of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral. She believes that people cross our paths for specific reasons.  Therefore, while passionately empowering and encouraging others, she savors every opportunity for others to pour into her as she fulfills her purpose and destiny!!
