Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is saddened by the news of what happened in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Our prayers go out to the families that lost members through this senseless act of violence. Know that, though we are hundreds of miles apart, we stand beside you, we support you in this hour of grief.


In light of this, Clayton County Public Schools will fly district flags at half staff in support of the Uvalde community and in memory of the lives lost.  Our children are our most precious investments and we must work together as local and global citizens to take a proactive approach to ensure that tragedies such as the one that occurred yesterday do not happen in Clayton County or any other school system across the nation and world.


Again, our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to the victims, their families, and the community of Uvalde. Please know that we, Clayton County, stand with you in support during this truly devastating time.
