Due to continued icy conditions on secondary roads throughout the county combined with continued below freezing temperatures, Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) will close all schools and offices Friday, January 19, 2018. The decision extends to all activities and programs for Friday. Activities, events and programs for Saturday and Sunday, January 20-21, will take place as scheduled.
“We realize that our school buses mostly travel on secondary and housing development roads and streets,” said Dr. Morcease J. Beasley, CCPS Superintendent of Schools. “Those roads continue to be covered with ice that makes them difficult for safe bus travel. Our desire to keep our children and staff safe led us to this decision.”
“We are confident that our district will resume a regular schedule on Monday, January 22,” he said. “We hope that our students and their families will take the opportunity to engage in learning by accessing available online resources that can be found at the following online locations:
