The Hear Our Voices Literary Competition encourages scholars in kindergarten through 12th grade to create original works through either written or oral presentations. Beginning at the school level the competition allows school-based winners to advance to the final phase of the competition at the district level. Scholars who participated in the written categories (dictated narrative (kindergarten only), narrative, essay, and poetry) were able to select their own topics while individuals who competed in the oratorical competition (speech, spoken word, and multimedia) engaged in the preselected topic of “Social Media: Friend or Foe” (see the entire prompt below). All winners will also be published in the annual Hear Our Voices Magazine.
