Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is proud to announce that the written works of two students from Pointe South Elementary School have been selected for placement in the 'I Have a Dream' World Peace Rose Garden at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park in Atlanta, Georgia. This special honor was earned through the International Messages of Peace Poem Contest by Miss Ta'Nai Kennedy, a fifth-grader won for her poem titled, "Together"; and first-grader Miss Samantha Burnett, who submitted a poem titled, "Sprinkle Kindness."

The two works were selected out of the 1,843 entries from across Georgia that were received in response to a request for an inspirational message of 35 words or less about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., world peace, or the World Peace Rose Garden. These two young ladies will be recognized and have their winning messages unveiled on May 11, 2023, at the 31st Anniversary of the 'I Have a Dream' World Peace Rose Garden at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park. The poems will be engraved on a plaque to be displayed in the Rose Garden for a year.
