
We are pleased to announce that Clayton County Public Schools has been selected by Morehouse College to participate in the Verizon Innovative Learning for Minority Males STEM Program. This program is designed to provide innovative hands on learning for middle school male students who do not have the technology or access to succeed in the digital world. The young men will learn 3D design and printing, coding, augmented reality, and virtual reality. The program is FREE and transportation to and from program will be provided, as well as lunch and snacks.
**This program is available for currently enrolled Clayton County Public School students only**
Dates: June 4, 2018 – June 22, 2018 – Monday through Friday
September 2018 – May 2019 – one Saturday per month
Location: Morehouse College, 830 Westview Dr., SW Atlanta, GA 30314
Times: 9:00AM until 4:00PM
Cost: FREE
Transportation: Will be provided. Pickup for transportation will be at the Professional Learning Center.
Eligibility: Currently enrolled 5th Graders/Rising 6th Graders Minority Males or Current Middle School Minority Males in Grades 6-8
Requirements: A completed application questionnaire and 2 recommendations from a teacher, guidance counselor or administrator. (See link below.)
Application Deadline: May 11th
Selection Criteria: Lottery
All applications and recommendations must be received by May 11th. Forms received after that time will not be considered for the program. Notification of those students selected for the program will be given by May 16, 2018.
