In observance of the 2023 National Day of Concern – Students Pledge Against Gun Violence, Clayton County Board of Education (CCBOE) Chair, Ms. Jessie Goree (representing District 3) and Ms. Mary Baker (District 6) in collaboration with the H.U.M.S. (Uplifting Hearts, Minds, and Souls) organization and Voices of Black Mothers United, and Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS), will sponsor an expressive art activity. The event will take place on Thursday, October 19 in the Media Center of Jonesboro High School (JHS) beginning at 12:15 p.m.

The ceremony at JHS will be taped to be shared with all students throughout the school district, encouraging them to take the students’ pledge against gun violence. Ms. Goree and Ms. Baker are joining with other CCBOE members to encourage all CCPS students and families to take the pledge against gun violence.

Interested persons may access the pledge via the QR Code on the attached flyer.
