Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS), in collaboration with the Clayton County Board of Education (CCBOE) and the Clayton County Solicitor General’s office, will host a “Good Trouble” Virtual Town Hall event for CCPS high school students on TODAY at 1:00 p.m.

Designed to engage high school students in meaningful conversation regarding social justice, the event will feature Mr. Benjamin Straker, CCBOE Member, District 9; Mr. Charles Brooks, Clayton County Solicitor General; Dr. Ralph Simpson, CCPS Deputy Superintendent of School Leadership and Improvement; as well as live music by CCPS alum and V-103 on-air personality, DJ Sturgess! This event will also provide an opportunity for students who are of voting age to register for the upcoming run-off election in January. This voter registration effort will be spearheaded by the CCPS Social Studies Department.

As part of this collaboration, students will also participate in an art project designed to engage them in conversations about the justice system and what social justice means and how it looks. Winners of this competition will have their art placed on display in the Office of the Solicitor General as a symbol of this outstanding partnership.
