The Clayton County Public Schools district strives to provide an environment where educators can grow and hone their professional skills. We use Title II, Part A funds to offer teachers, principals, and other school leaders opportunities to engage in professional development and learning to improve the overall quality of instruction and ensure equity of educational opportunities for all students. Title II-A funds are also allocated to implement induction programs, mentor teachers and school administrators, hire Teacher Development Specialists, provide professional development on the needs of our diverse learners, and support the district's TAPP program.
The purpose of Title II, Part A Support Effective Instruction provides grants to schools and districts to:
- increase student achievement consistent with challenging state academic standards;
- improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders;
- increase the number of teachers, principals, and other school leaders who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools; and
- provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals, and other school leaders.
