Ms. Felicia Brown

Felicia Brown has 32 years of experience in public education.  She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Middle Grades Education from Emory University in 1990.  She began her career in 1990 as a 7th grade English and Social Studies teacher at Cousins Middle School in the Newton County Public School System.  Ms. Brown taught at Cousins Middle School and coached softball until June 1995. She taught at Green Pastures Christian Ministries (1996) and she earned a Master’s of Education Degree from Brenau University (1996). 

Ms. Brown moved and continued her career in education as a 7th grade mathematics teacher at G.P. Babb Middle School in Clayton County Public Schools in August of 1996. During this time, she completed an Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership from Troy State University.  Ms. Brown also served as the athletic director and head girls’ basketball coach at G.P. Babb Middle. She was named Teacher of the Year in 1999.  After teaching four years at G.P. Babb Middle School, Ms. Brown accepted a position as assistant principal for six years and principal for seven years at the same location.  Ms. Brown was named Clayton County Public Schools Principal of the Year in 2011.

Ms. Brown accepted the position of principal of Jonesboro High School in October of 2012. She remained principal at Jonesboro for 10 years.  Ms. Brown was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services and Strategic Improvement in February 2023.
