Clayton County Public Schools’ (CCPS) Huie Elementary School teachers, staff, and students were excited to welcome Georgia’s First Lady Marty Kemp to their school today, October 25, to read to Pre-K students!
Held in the school’s media center, First Lady Kemp was greeted with a special good morning song, sung by the Pre-K audience prior to reading “Jabari Jumps” by Gaia Cornwall! As a special treat, the students received their own copies of “Jabari Jumps,” signed by First Lady Kemp to add to their personal libraries. Also in attendance were Ms. Jessie Goree, Chair of the Clayton County Board of Education and representative of District 3; Ms. Victoria Williams, Board of Education representative of District 4; Ms. Joy Tellis Cooper, Board of Education representative of District 8; and Superintendent/CEO of Clayton County Public Schools, Dr. Morcease J. Beasley.
On behalf of Clayton County Public Schools and Huie Elementary School, led by Dr. Roxanne Dixon, we welcome First Lady Marty Kemp to our school district as well as thank her for helping to support a culture of high performance for our students! In addition, we thank all who supported and coordinated this event on behalf of the Pre-K students at Huie Elementary School!
