This is the image for the news article titled Clayton County at the Capitol - February 12, 2018Superintendent of Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS), Dr. Morcease J. Beasley, held a press conference today, February 12 at the Georgia Capitol Building to speak out against the proposed legislation, House Bill 821, that would eliminate nearly $20 million annually from the Clayton County and Clayton County Public Schools budget.

Joined by State Legislators, County Delegates, CCPS Board of Education members, over 1,700 students and staff as well as 300 Clayton County citizens flooded the capitol to stand together for the betterment of the school system, county and its constituents.  While we are currently seeking a solution that is beneficial to all entities, all stakeholders are encouraged to continue mobilized efforts in opposing HB 821.

We are #ClaytonStrong!
