This is the image for the news article titled District Leadership at Delta Headquarters & CapitolAs Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) continues to advocate for solutions relative to the impact of House Bill 821, district leadership visited the state Capitol again yesterday, Tuesday, February 13, to stand in opposition of the proposed legislation.

Joined by Members of the CCPS Board of Education, district administrators and principals, Superintendent Dr. Morcease J. Beasley and County Delegates filled the halls of the Capitol Building in hopes of securing a mutually beneficial outcome.

Meanwhile at Delta Airlines Headquarters over 500 CCPS students unloaded buses at airlines Corporate Headquarters to voice their desire for a solution for the potential impact of the proposed legislation that would eliminate nearly $20 million annually from the Clayton County and Clayton County Public Schools budget.

“We are learning an invaluable lesson this week as it relates to being diplomatic through a moral situation-disproportionately providing statewide tax relief on the backs of the children of Clayton County and the County at-large,” said Superintendent Beasley. “We will not stop until there's a solution that is mutually beneficial to our students, County, state and Delta.”
