2020 Student Services Virtual Summit - Manny Scott , Guest Speaker
Posted on 07/17/2020

We are excited about the CCPS Division of Student Support Services’ Annual Summit, which will be held virtually on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.  Our theme is "Supporting the Redesign for a Culture of High Performance."    It is our goal to utilize the opportunity presented through technology to engage you in various topics that will provide a platform on which you will support your school communities.   The global pandemic and current climate which has placed attention on social justice, has made the provision of focused, intentional, creative, and connected support to our students even more paramount. The overall wellbeing of our students begins with the support they are provided by school teams. The outcome of your participation in this retreat will be to ensure that you have the tools and insights needed to lead your teams as we enter a “New Normal”.

Our guest speaker is Mr. Manny Scott. Mr. Scott is an original Freedom Writer whose story is told in part in the 2007 hit movie Freedom Writers. Through his educational consulting firm, Ink International, Inc., Manny Scott has energized almost two million leaders, educators, volunteers, and students worldwide with his authentic, inspiring messages of hope. Through his inspiring messages, Manny Scott has empowered nearly two million people to improve the quality of not only their own lives, but also the lives of those around them. He has helped hundreds of organizations raise student achievement and leader effectiveness in 49 states and five continents; and, he has helped prevent thousands of dropouts and suicides.

The Summit will be "conference style," where you will have an opportunity to select from several virtually held concurrent sessions. Each session is designed to provide resources for leaders in the areas of mental health support, student health services, discipline, English language learning, special education and interventions utilizing virtual platforms.
