On Saturday, October 30, 2021 the Clayton County Board of Education and Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) Superintendent/CEO of Schools Dr. Morcease J, Beasley, met in a retreat session in the Media Center at Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Georgia. In attendance were Board Chair Ms. Jessie Goree, District 3; Board Vice Chair Mr. Benjamin Straker, District 9; Ms. Jasmine Bowles, District 1; Mr. Mark Christmas, District 2; Ms. Victoria Williams, District 4; Dr. Deatrice Dee Haney, District 5; Ms. Mary Baker, District 6; Ms. Sabrina Hill, District 7; and Ms. Joy Tellis Cooper, District 8.
The agenda included presentations on the District’s Facilities Plan by Dr. Anthony Smith and Mr. Ronick Joseph. In addition, Dr. Samuel King, Director of Superintendent Searches and Board Development for the Georgia School Boards Association conducted an informative training on the Superintendent’s and Board’s duties and responsibilities in the Superintendent Evaluation Process.
