Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) joins with Dr. Shakeria Chaney, principal of North Clayton Middle School (NCMS), in announcing several North Clayton Middle scholars are competing in their first international graphic design challenge through Bright Spark! Bright Spark is part of Bridge Innovate’s Innovation for Good programming and is designed to ignite creative confidence in students and educators using design thinking. Bright Spark offers innovation competitions for students in grades fourth through 12th to build design skills such as empathy, creative problem-solving, prototyping, and pitching.

Students who are interested in STEAM and entrepreneurship compete in Bright Spark competitions to expand their design skills and innovation portfolio. NCMS scholars Sophia Soboyejo, Airanna Pierce, Davtonia Seymour and Gabriella Perez-Flores along with faculty advisors Ms. Stacey Nelson and Mrs. Lauren Mobley have submitted a graphic design depicting this year’s theme: “The Power of We.” Their graphic design entry shows the collaboration of the power of working together (see below).

We are encouraging all Clayton County Public Schools students, faculty, support staff, administrators, and stakeholders to support North Clayton Middle School in this international contest by voting using the link below. Note: You do have to vote for an elementary school and a high school entry to complete the ballot. Voting closes at 5:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, May 10th.
