Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is excited to remind parents and students of our Clayton Reads to Succeed initiatives. We want our students to practice reading for at least 30 minutes a day to develop a love for reading, to increase their reading skills and vocabulary, and to expand their overall knowledge of the world. Students who read regularly are more prepared for the learning that occurs throughout the school year, and reading improves their preparation for college and careers. There are so many ways that our students can read this summer and beyond. Let’s read together!

  • Visit any Clayton County school to select a free book from the Little Free Library.
  • Access our high-interest Summer Reading Lists for each grade level at tinyurl.com/claytonreads-summer. Then, click on the image of a book to read a digital copy.
  • Request a public library card at tinyurl.com/publiclibrarycard, and check out both print or eBooks from any Clayton County Public Library.
  • Complete the Reading Challenges Log at tinyurl.com/2023readingchallenges and return the completed page to their Media Specialist in August for a special prize.
  • Listen to and/or watch the video below to learn more about how our students can get "plugged" into reading. When Clayton Reads, We All Succeed! 3-minute promo video for Clayton Reads Summer Initiative
